My 1st 2015 Rant…

Happy 2015 to all bloggers, readers and dear friends I’ve made along the way!!!! 🙂

Just so you know, I left out “Fellow” on purpose. I for one am too embarrassed to call myself a blogger as I feel I would in fact be insulting the word… I barely managed to put fingers to keyboard last year  for goodness sake! 😦 but  I will add that it was not entirely my fault… I BLAME LIFE!!! 😀

2014 was EPIC!!! the changes that took place where wonderful and yet exhausting! They created little or no time for literary creativity, and with all the time that’s passed I feel so ashamed of the silence and even a bit unworthy to write. My blogs are practically crawling with cobwebs! 😦

Well its a new year…  I’m hoping for a fresh start! New ideas, new inspiration… etc. Who knows where my mind and fingers will lead me …Wish me luck people!.. 😉

it starts small...” 🙂

8 Minutes or Less

I write these words on parchment in a matter of minutes
Yet on my heart inscribed in seconds
In essence there they always resided
and with speed of thought my brain speaks,
My fingers grasp the quill and by awe of such thought I am stilled…
Then I write but stunted as ink in my tool takes flight.
By new pen my heart unfolds on paper… “I Love thee”

Scott’s rave: Another thought provoking one from Festival King! Oh, you poetess, creating deliberation and debate within my own mind. Now, your words are artful prey of my soul as this hunter delves in, wanting to pounce on the deepest meaning! You taunt my soul FK! Possibly it is all just as it reads, but her style makes one ponder and desire more. Please visit Festival King for more of her great writing!

2012 in review

I thank you ALL for being a part of my life in 2012! And wish you a VERY Happy New Year in advance!

Lots of love
F.K 😉

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 7,600 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 13 years to get that many views.

Lions without Manes…

Hair Chronicles

I came across this picture today and I instantly fell in love with it. The first thing that struck me was the splendor of the roaring beast and the second, its Mane.

The lion. A magnificent creature, graceful in its sway and yet extremely fierce when provoked. The mane of the adult male lion, is one of the most distinctive characteristicsof this huge feline. It makes the lionappear larger, providing an excellent intimidation display; this aids the lion during confrontations with other lions and with its chief competitors.

Useful thing, the mane.

Now tell me, what do you think of this picture? I edited it myself 😛

A girlfriend saw it displayed on a social network as my profile photo, and her first reaction towards it was “Eeewww”.

I know you don’t quite understand where I’m going with this just yet, but kindly indulge me for a few……

One small step can do so much…

Hair Chronicles

Today’s post has been quite a challenge as I have had to battle with an overwhelming excitement. It gives me great pleasure each time I meet women willing to strut a bald look despite the circumstance, balding or not, and then when I find public figures doing it I tend to go ga-ga. Britney Spears did it and was called nuts, but for me, crazy or not, her actions were like a fuel to my fire. Then there was Demi Moore who got a skin cut for her role in the movie “G.I Jane”

Natalie Portman in “V for Vendetta”

Finally, I would be crazy to leave out Amber Rose the American model, artist, actress, and socialite.

Joanna Rowsell was recently added to my list of heroines when at the London 2012 Olympics, she removed her helmet to reveal her almost totally bald form, after coming in first place in…

Hair Chronicles

Ok, so I said I was sleepy, which I actually am but I promised myself and a blogger friend of mine that I would write about this today.

Meet Naomi Campbell. She’s a hot and sexy SUPER super-model, she’s rich and famous and according to the latest gist by the media ….she also suffers from Traction alopecia.

A friend and I were chatting after she had been on my blog and read about my ordeal when Naomi’s name came up. At some point during the conversation my friend says:

“I don’t understand why she won’t cut that thing off! She’s a model after all so her going bald will just look like a fashion statement”.

RRRRRRRrrrright! E easy like that abi? 😀 …. Well I want to tell you that its so NOT!

I still remember that faithful day of the BIG CHOP like it was a few…

Thatnigeriangirl's Blog

This week has been hilarious and quite interesting for me, and I had two crazy incidents that were related to the ‘Logistics West Africa’ exhibition that was held at the Eko hotels from the 1st to the 3rd of November, 2011.

Event 1.

My office picked out two delegates, and one of my bosses was a speaker at the event. I didnt go for the opening of the exhibition but later that day, I was told I would have to be present there the next day to ‘sit’ at the offices’ stall which I secretely named ‘the kissing booth’. Anyway, after being told of my responsibility, my immediate boss hands me the company’s branded polo shirt and face cap, and I thought to myself, “ugh, I’m so not wearing this!”. I’m quite small, and even though the shirt that was given to me was a ‘small’ size, when I got home and…
